50 Best Places To Live

Rugby took 15th place in a recent survey by the Halifax on the 50 Best Places To Live in the UK. The survey looked at strong exam results, high life expectancy, excellent health and happiness scores and high average earnings. Our town was one of only three locations in the West Midlands to be included in the league table – beating Warwick which was placed 20th.

Rugby’s economic growth

Warwickshire County Council has announced that Rugby’s economy is growing much faster than the national average. Data shows that Rugby is the third largest economy in Warwickshire and that the town’s economy had grown by 30% since 2009. The town’s performance across measures such as business start-ups and employment are also bucking the national trend. In addition, Rugby makes up 44% of the total of Warwickshire’s transport and logistics sector and is also seeing strong growth in manufacturing and engineering.
